I was born and raised in Kansas City, went to college in Connecticut, lived in Australia for five years, and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in writing and directing. While I still enjoy those activities, I’ve found that my true calling is in helping others, especially children, work through the struggles in their own lives.
All my earlier jobs seem to have led to this place, from the arts to bartending to elementary school teaching to truck driving to caregiving for developmentally disabled adults.
I have extensive experience in working with numerous childhood issues, such as ADHD, Autism, Aspergers, Depression, Anxiety, and recovery from Physical, Sexual, and Emotional Abuse. I am also experienced in working with Substance Abuse, Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorders, and Unresolved Grief.
I currently work at two offices in the Los Angeles area, with a sliding scale of fees:
West Los Angeles:
12304 Santa Monica Boulevard, Suite 327
Los Angeles, CA 90025
San Fernando Valley:
5550 Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Suite 300
Woodland Hills, CA 91367
Phone: (818) 624-3637
Education:
BA in Art from Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT, 1983
MA in Film/Television Production from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, 1993
MA in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute, Encino, CA, 2005
Certificated from Drama Therapy Institute of Los Angeles, CA, 2007.
